A man has been arrested in connection with a house fire in Llwynypia, Rhondda.
Police were alerted to reports of a house fire at Tyntyla Road at about 4.45pm on Tuesday, September 21.
South Wales Fire and Rescue and the Welsh Ambulance Service also attended the scene to bring the fire under control.
One woman was taken to Morriston Hospital with serious injuries and a number of other people have been treated for smoke inhalation.

One neighbour Elwydd Jeffrey said, "I've never seen such black smoke, it was awful. I could hardly see through the window because the smoke was so dense."


South Wales Police has now confirmed a 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the house fire.
A spokesperson for the force said: "South Wales Police is investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire which occurred at a premises on Tyntyla Road, Tonypandy at approximately 4.45pm on Tuesday, September 21.
"One woman was taken to Morriston Hospital with serious injuries and a number of other people have been treated for smoke inhalation.
"A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and an investigation is ongoing.
"Anybody with information is urged to contact 101 and give reference *333467."

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue said: "At approximately 4:37pm on Tuesday 21st September 2021 we received reports of a domestic fire at a property on Tyntyla Road in Llwyn-Y-Pia, Tonypandy.
"Crews attended the scene and used specialist equipment to extinguish the fire. A stop message was received at 6:49pm and a fire investigation is in progress."
A Welsh Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a fire on Tyntyla Road in Tonypandy. One ambulance, one car and a special practitioner attended the incident".
