Man, 25, dies in flat just one day after being released from prison

A man has died in a flat just one day after being released from jail.

Police named Kieran Kauss, 25, as the victim of a fatal incident in a flat in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, on Friday.

Paramedics and police rushed to the flat and battled to save his life but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, Grimsby Live reports.

People took to social media to pay tribute to Kieran who had promised to change his ways when he was jailed last year.

It is understood he had been freed from jail just a day before his death following a series of convictions.

He had also been made subject to a criminal behaviour order banning him from a number of shops in the town centre.

One tribute read: “RIP Kieran lad” while a friend posted: “Poor Kieran, man.”

The death marks the third fatality on the same road in just a year, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Residents living near the flat have been left devastated by the latest tragedy, which came just three months after a woman was found dead in a ground floor flat last November 22.

A man died at the same premises the previous year.

One neighbour said he was shocked to hear of the death and said there had been a large response from emergency services.

Police carried out door-to-door enquiries and questioned others present at the apartment, it is understood.

The first-floor flat near Rutland Arms pub is a shared accommodation home and is across the road from Hamilton Street police station.

A relative attended at the scene to confirm Kieran had died.

It is understood a file is being prepared for the coroner.
