Man, 25, charged in connection with Salford shooting

A man has been charged after shots were fired in Salford.

Darrell James Hewitt, 25, of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of a firearm.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday August 14.

Shortly after 2pm on Thursday July 11 2019, police were called to reports of shots fired on Liverpool Street.

A 17-year-old boy and two men, aged 18 and 22, were previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

They have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Later, a 15-year-old boy and 37-year-old man were also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

They have also been bailed pending further enquiries.
