Police have arrested a 25-year-old man after an anti-Brexit rally in Glasgow city centre.
We told how around 500 people gathered at the top of Buchanan Street to sing to mark Britain formally leaving the EU last night.
The rally, dubbed Leave the Light On and organised by the Glasgow Loves EU group, saw campaigners letting their voices be heard on the stroke of 11pm on Friday evening.
Campaigners waved Saltires, torchlights and European Union flags to send a message of the disdain at the decision to leave the EU.
Meanwhile a took place in George Square to celebrate the start of Brexit.
Around 100 Leavers also braced cold and windy conditions in Glasgow for their pro-Brexit gathering.
The event, just yards away from Leave the Light On, was organised by former UKIP member and Holocaust denier, Alistair McConnachie.
Participants cheered and sang God Save the Queen while waving Union Jack flags at the clock struck 11pm.
A 25-year-old was arrested for minor disorder, Police confirmed. However, no other disorder was reported and the events passed peacefully.
A spokeswoman for the force told the Record: "A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with minor disorder on Buchanan Street in Glasgow yesterday.
"A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal."
