Man, 24, taken to hospital after serious assault in Leeds

A 24-year-old man has been left with serious injuries following an assault in Leeds over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The man was found by officers from West Yorkshire Police on Dewsbury Road in Beeston, being left with injured after the attack.

Police are now appealing for information after the incident, asking those in the area to come forward.

A statement from West Yorkshire Police read: "Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Leeds.

"The incident occurred at around 8.50pm on Saturday 29 May on Dewsbury Road, close to the junction of Temple Road, Beeston.

"Officers attended and found a male who was seriously injured.

"The 24-year-old was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing to members of the public to assist.

"Anyone who may have been present at the time of the incident or may have dash cam footage that will assist with enquiries is asked to contact 101 and quoting reference 13210267759.

"Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111."
