Man, 24, found stabbed to death in street as police launch murder investigation

A murder investigation has been launched after a young man was stabbed to death in the quiet suburbs of Reading.

Emergency services were called to Managua Close in Caversham shortly before 1am Saturday morning to find the 24-year-old victim with a knife wound in his chest.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Thames Valley police have said the man's next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A murder probe has now started with the knifeman still at large as cordons remain in place at the scene.

No arrests have yet been made.

Officers will be conducting house-to-house enquiries as part of the investigation.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Nicola Douglas, of Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the man who has sadly lost his life.
