Man, 24, dies following early morning disturbance in Wishaw

A man has been arrested following the death of a 24-year-old man following a disturbance in Wishaw in the early hours of the morning.

Officers were called to a home in Carron Street in the Pather area of the town just after 2am.

The man was rushed to hospital but died shortly afterwards.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A report was received of a disturbance outside a property on Carron Street in Wishaw around 2.05am on Tuesday, 14 April.

“A 24-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital Wishaw following the incident. He died a short time later.

“A 28-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident 0254 of 14 April, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
