Man, 24, attacked by gang outside Paisley nightclub

A man was left needing hospital treatment after being ambushed by thugs outside a Paisley nightclub.

The 24-year old was drinking in Vienna’s in the town’s New Street on Saturday and was pounced on by the group of four men when he left around 3am.

The brutes subjected the man to a violent attack, leaving him with a laceration above his eye.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, where he needed treatment to close the wound.

Police believe an altercation may have started in the nightclub - which reopened earlier this month - prompting the group to wait outside for him.

The attack is being treated as a serious assault and an investigation has been launched in a bid to trace the attackers.

Officers at Paisley’s CID are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward and are now checking CCTV in the area to identify those responsible.

The first man is described as having dark hair, wearing a white top, light blue jeans and light coloured high top trainers.

The second man had dark hair and was wearing a dark jacket with a light coloured top underneath.

Officers are also keen to trace a heavy set man wearing a dark jacket and a fourth man with dark hair, of slim build and wearing a dark hooded top with a white logo printed on the back.

Detective inspector Iain Ross, of Paisley CID, said: “These men were not known to the victim and this was a random attack.

“We are not sure if an argument had broken out between the two parties while within the nightclub which has eventually spilled out into the street.

“We have launched an investigation into the circumstances and are now checking CCTV in the area to determine what has occurred.

“We would ask anyone who may have witnessed this attack to please get in touch with us to assist us with out enquiries.”
