A 24-year-old man has been arrested over claims he seriously assaulted a woman in Paisley.
Police were called to Dalskeith Crescent, in Ferguslie, on Saturday night following reports of an ongoing disturbance by members of the public.
Officers attended shortly after midnight and discovered a 31-year-old woman with a laceration to the side of her face.
Police Scotland confirmed a 24-year-old man had been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault.

A spokesman added: “Officers responded to calls regarding an ongoing disturbance in Dalskeith Crescent on January 9.
“A 31-year-old woman was discovered with a serious injury to the right-hand side of her face.
“We can confirm a 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault.”
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was also arrested in Dalskeith Crescent on the same evening after allegedly hurling homophobic abuse at another man in front of police.
Officers were responding to the alleged serious assault when the man is said to have began shouting and making offensive remarks.
He was arrested and charged with an alleged breach of the peace and hate crime offences.
