A MAN has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault at a Scottish music festival.
Police Scotland confirmed to The National that a 24-year-old man was arrested following reports of a sexual assault at the Tiree Music Festival on Friday, 10 July.
He has since been "released pending further enquiries, which are ongoing".
Officers were seen searching and dismantling a tent at the campsite after the final act concluded on Friday night.
The festival started on Thursday, and will run until Monday. It is the 15th year of the event.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with a sexual assault at a music festival in Tiree on the evening of Friday, 10 July, 2026. He was released pending further enquiries, which are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for Tiree Music Festival said: “We are doing everything we can to support Police Scotland who are leading enquiries into this matter.
"Our thoughts are with those affected, and our absolute priority is the safety and wellbeing of everyone at the festival.”
The festival saw several Scottish acts take the stage, including Dougie Maclean, Skipinnish and punk-folk trio Peat and Diesel.
Skerryvore, Tide Lines and Sharon Shannon are also in attendance.
