A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Monday in Garfield Park on the West Side.
He was standing on the street about 1:03 a.m. in the 700 block of North St. Louis Avenue when he was shot, Chicago police said.
The man was struck in the head and pronounced dead on the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about his death.
Police paced with flashlights just beyond the entrance to an alley on St. Louis, placing several shell casing markers on the street.
No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
