A man is due to appear in court this morning after being charged with murdering a lawyer found dead at home in Wirral.
The victim, Martin Decker, had suffered a severe head injury at the Prenton property.
Today police confirmed a man had been charged with the murder of Mr Decker.
David Iwo, 23, of no fixed abode, will appear at Preston Magistrates court this morning (Saturday, March 13).
Officers were called to a house in Vyner Croft, a luxury development off Boundary Road, near Bidston Hill, at around 5.20pm on Sunday.
They discovered the body of Mr Decker, 69, on arrival. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Home Office post mortem has since revealed the cause of death to be a "severe blunt force head injury".
The former lawyer has been described as a "gentleman" by friends.
Police have remained at the murder scene in Vyner Croft all week and were still there yesterday evening.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said this morning: "We have charged a man with the murder of Martin Decker at his home in Prenton.
