Man, 23, dies after falling from scaffolding on Sauchiehall Street

Police have confirmed to Glasgow Live a 23 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene after reports of falling off scaffolding last night.

Emergency services rushed to Sauchiehall Street yesterday evening following reports of a person falling from scaffolding.

Reports of the accident on the busy city centre street were received at around 6pm.

Police Scotland vans and paramedics were seen on the street near to the Beresford Lounge complex.

A spokesman said: " Police were called around 5.50pm on Friday, 18 September, 2020, following the report that a man had fallen from scaffolding on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
