A 23-year-old man has been arrested after an unidentified woman was found dead in Brechin.
Officers from Police Scotland were called to Swan Street in the Angus town last night after reports of a body being found.
Following the discovery the male was arrested in the early hours of the morning.
The death of the woman is currently being treated as suspicious .
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 23-year-old male has been arrested following the death of an unidentified woman.
"The road will be closed for most of the day to allow police to conduct an investigation."
