Man, 22, found stabbed at bus station after row erupts in nightclub

An investigation has been launched after a 22-year-old man was stabbed in Todmorden, near Rochdale.

The victim was found at the bus station in Burnley Road with a serious injury from the knife attack at 4.23am today (Saturday).

It is believed he was assaulted following an row that began in nearby Monty’s nightclub in Bridge Street, YorkshireLive reports.

West Yorkshire Police said the young man had been taken to the hospital for treatment in a serious condition, however his injuries are not considered life threatening.

Officers from the force remain at the scene and the market and car park are shut to the public. The indoor market remains open.

A statement from the force reads: “Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed and seriously injured in Todmorden early today.

“At 4.23am today, officers were contacted by the ambulance service who had been called to the bus station in Burnley Road, Todmorden, where a 22-year-old man had been found with knife injuries.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are serious but are not considered life-threatening.

“The victim is believed to have been assaulted following an altercation that began in Monty’s nightclub in Bridge Street.

“A scene is currently in place to undergo forensic examination and detectives from Calderdale CID are continuing enquiries into the incident.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Calderdale CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13210529139 or online .
