Man, 22, dies after falling from multi-storey car park in Leeds city centre

A 22-year-old man has died after falling from a multi-storey car park in Leeds city centre.

Police have said that they were called to Woodfield Lane Car Park at 9.30am on Friday morning where they were tending to the man, who was confirmed dead at the scene.

A cordon was put in place for a number of hours and diversions put in place for traffic. The cordon has since been removed.

Police have said that the man was reported missing the previous evening and a search to find him was being conducted.

Floral tributes have been left at the scene for the man, who was from Castleford.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police received reports of concern for a missing 22-year-old Castleford man shortly after 8:45pm last night and enquiries were made to locate him.

"Officers were subsequently called to Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, at about 9:30am this morning where the ambulance service were tending to a male in his 20s who had fallen from a car park. Sadly, the male was confirmed dead at the scene.

"A scene is currently in place while enquiries are carried out but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
