Man, 21, 'jumps to his death' from 16-storey rooftop bar after ordering drink

A man has died after reportedly jumping from a rooftop bar moments after ordering a drink.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in Manhattan after falling 16 floors into the street.

Witnesses believe the man deliberately fell to his death.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene but were unable to save the man's life.

Tuesday night's tragedy happened at Henry's Rooftop Bar, on top of The Roger Smith Hotel.

An onlooker named Talita, who was on a date at the time, told the New York Post : “We were all sitting at the rooftop bar and he just ran and he jumped."

The man has not yet been identified by investigators.

Talita, who reportedly works for the United Nations, said that many in the bar were oblivious to what had just happened.

“People were just laughing and continuing to have a conversation like nothing happened,” she said.

And an employee at the hotel told the Daily News: "He sat down at the bar, ordered a drink and then just jumped.

"He didn't even touch his drink."
