Man, 21, charged with attempted robbery and wounding after stabbing in Riverside

A man has been charged following the stabbing of a 38-year-old man in the Riverside area of Cardiff, last week, South Wales Police have said.

On Friday, January 31, police officers cordoned off several streets after reports of a serious assault at around 7.40am on Smeaton Street in the capital.

Ben James, 21, from Llandaff North, was due to appear in Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 6, charged with wounding, attempted robbery & possession of a knife.

Streets in the Ninian Park Road area were shut off for several hours as South Wales Police carried out forensic examinations and specialist armed officers were deployed as a precaution.
