Man, 20s, to appear in court over massive €195,000 cannabis seizure in Mallow, Co Cork

A man is due before the courts charged in connection with the seizure of €195,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb.

The man, who is in his 20s, will appear before Mallow District Court, Co. Cork on Wednesday morning.

He was arrested after Gardai carried out a planned, intelligence lead operation in Mallow Town and seized approximately €70,000 worth of cannabis on the morning of Monday, November 4.

Following the initial haul, officers from the Mallow District Drugs Unit, assisted by the Armed Support Unit and the Regional Dog Unit, carried out another search that evening at a house in Quartertown and seized €125,000 of suspected cannabis herb.

The man was arrested and charged under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
