A young man was seriously injured in a late-night stabbing in Galway city.
The man, in his 20s, was attacked on St Francis Street in the city centre at around 3.30am on Wednesday.
He was rushed from the scene with injuries that are described as "serious", but not life-threatening.
The man is currently being treated at University Hospital Galway.

A garda spokesman said: " A man in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Galway with serious but non life threatening injuries.
"Francis Street has now reopened following a technical examination. Investigations are ongoing."
