A man has been left with serious head injuries following an alleged early morning attack by a group of males in Dublin City.
The victim who is in his 20s was assaulted on O'Connell Street just after 1am on Sunday morning.
He was taken to Mater Hospital where his condition is being described as serious.
Gardai told Dublin Live that the man was reportedly involved in an altercation with a group of men at the time of the attack.
A spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating an assault incident that occurred in the O’Connell Street Upper area on 3/11/19 at approximately 1:15am."
He added: "A man in his late 20s received head injuries following an reported altercation with a group of males.
"The man was taken to the Mater Hospital in a serious condition."
