A man has been killed in a fatal crash in Co. Meath on Sunday night.
The crash involving a van occurred on a minor road in the Cross Kells at around 11pm last night.
The man who died was a passenger in the van which was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
His body was taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.
Meanwhile the driver of the vehicle was was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he is being treated for 'serious injuries'.
Gardai have appealed for information on the tragic crash and the scene remains sealed off.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred in the Crossakeel area of Kells, Co Meath, on 26/07/2020 at approximately 11pm.
"A male passenger, aged in his 20s, was taken from the scene in a critical condition to Our Ladys Hospital Navan where he was later pronounced dead.
"The driver of the van, a man also aged in his 20s, has been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda with serious injuries.
"The scene will be subject to a technical examination by Gardai forensic collision investigators.
"Gardai are appealing for anyone with information, particularity any road users with dash-cam footage, to contact them at Kells Garda Station on 046 928 0820 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
