Man, 20s, dead after car crashes into pillar on North Dublin road

A man has died after crashing into a pillar in north county Dublin this evening.

The man, in his mid-20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a male passenger, also mid-20s, was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.

His injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

The driver's body has been removed to a mortuary in Whitehall, where a post mortem will take place.

The road is currently closed as Gardai and forensic investigators remain on the scene.

Gardai in Finglas are appealing for any witnesses or any drivers that may have dash cam footage from the scene to come forward.
