Man, 20s, charged in connection with Navan Road van crash that left driver with serious injuries

A man in his 20s was charged this afternoon in relation to a crash in west Dublin on Monday.

The man is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice at 4:30pm.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown continue to investigate the serious crash on the Old Navan Road at Cantebury Gate.

A man and a boy were rushed to hospital after the van crash in Blanchardstown.

Emergency services rushed to the scene immediately and the driver, a man in his 20s, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

A male youth was also taken to hospital where his injuries were said not to be life-threatening.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Blanchardstown investigating the serious injury road collision that occurred on the Old Navan Road at Cantebury Gate, Dublin on Monday 16th August, 2021 have charged the arrested man.

"The man (in his 20s) was charged this afternoon and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, this afternoon Wednesday 18th August, 2021 at 4:30pm.

"Investigations ongoing."
