Man, 20s, arrested and charged for allegedly threatening to kill another man in Drogheda, Co Louth

A young man has been arrested and charged for allegedly threatening to kill another man last July.

The man, aged in his 20s allegedly threatened to kill a man in his 30s, in Drogheda, Co Louth, last summer.

In a statement gardai said: "On 31st May 2019, Gardaí in Drogheda arrested and charged a man in his 20s with one count of Section 5 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

"This charge relates to an incident on the 19th July 2018 where the man allegedly threatened to kill a man in his 30's.

"The man was subsequently arrested in October 2018 and a file was then prepared for the DPP for direction. 

"He appeared before the Criminal Justice Court in Dublin today 1st June 2019 and has been remanded in custody with consent to bail subject to strict conditions.

"The case was adjourned until 10.30am on 6th June 2019 at Cloverhill District Court."
