Man, 20s, arrested after Gardai led on wild early morning car chase across Raheny and Artane in North Dublin

A man in his 20s was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning after Gardai were led on a wild car chase across North Dublin.

The car failed to stop while driving in the McCauley Avenue area of Artane at 1:30am.

Locals reported that several squad cars and a garda helicopter were on the scene at the time of the chase.

The two occupants of the vehicle sped across Raheny before they were eventually intercepted by Gardai.

The driver of the car fled from the scene while a passenger, a male in his 20s, was arrested and brought to Coolock Garda Station.

A spokesman for Gardai told Dublin Live that the man has since been released and investigations are ongoing.
