Man, 20, who waited months to visit barber becomes sensation with 'worst haircut' ever

A man who waited four months during lockdown to get a haircut has become an internet sensation after revealing the "worst haircut of his life."

College student Andrew Riley, 20, from Glasgow, visited his local hairdresser in Bearsden on April 7, after they were allowed to reopen across Scotland.

He paid £12 for the cut and asked the barber for a mid skin fade.

But Andrew was left fuming when he got what he called the worst haircut he had ever had.

Andrew, who is set to start a barbers' course himself in August, took to Twitter to share the results of his new look - where it has been widely shared.

Screenshots of the messages between Andrew and the barber show him sporting a thick patch of hair on the very top of his head, while his sides are completely bald.

Andrew said that he wasn't happy with the finished look, as the barber responds with an apology and the offer of a free haircut next time.

But the less than impressed customer replied: "Don't think it will be mate as I will be taking my business elsewhere."

Speaking about the cut he said: "During the haircut, I had my doubts as I have done before but I thought I should trust the process as these guys are trained professionals.

"I waited four months for the haircut and got hit with the worst one I've ever had in my life."

Andrew chose not to complain to staff during his visit and promptly paid before leaving.

He added: "I was really angry and frustrated at my haircut, it ruined my whole day.

"I decided to text the barber after to complain as I found their number on Facebook."

Andrew said he wasn't expecting his post to go viral and is shocked at the response.

He said: "It's blown up quite a bit on Twitter, which I wasn't expecting and wasn't the reason I posted it."

In England hairdressers and barbers will be allowed to re-open from April 12 as part of Boris Johnson's roadmap out of lockdown.

In Wales hairdressers have already opened, and in Scotland they began sprucing customers again from April 5.
