Man, 20, stabbed to death in unprovoked attack whilst he waited for train to go to Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest Carabao cup fixture

A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death as he waited for a train to go to a match between Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.

The man, named Tashan Daniel, was attacked at Hillingdon tube station in London on Tuesday September 24 at around 4pm.

British Transport Police said two unknown men were believed to have provoked a fight with Mr Daniel and his friend as they waited for a London-bound Piccadilly Line service.

They were heading to Arsenal's Emirates Stadium to watch the Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest

One of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed Mr Daniel, reports BirminghamLive.

Paramedics worked with police officers and a member of the public to save the 20-year-old but, despite efforts he died on board a Tube carriage.

British Transport Police said detectives have conducted a number of enquiries overnight to trace those responsible for his killing.

No arrests have been made.

Det Chief Insp Sam Blackburn, Senior Investigating Officer, said: “Tashan was an upstanding young man. He had only just celebrated his 20th birthday and was heading into London to watch Arsenal play. He did not deserve to lose his life during this senseless attack.

“His family are completely broken by this news and we are doing everything we can to offer them support. Over the coming days we will have extra officers on patrol in the Hillingdon area, and detectives are in the local area today, speaking with residents.

“I am also appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. We know both men fled the scene in the direction of Auriol Drive. I would ask anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

"Likewise, we’d be keen to speak with any motorist with dashcam footage from the Auriol Drive or outside Hillingdon station at approximately 3.45pm to 4pm yesterday.”
