A 20-year-old man has died days after being shot in Humboldt Park on the West Side.
Elijah McMahon King was shot multiple times as he was driving about noon Jan. 24 in the 1100 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, and was pronounced dead four days later at 2:32 p.m. on Jan. 28, authorities said.
An autopsy released Thursday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
Less than two hours after he was shot, a teenage boy was shot in the head and arm just blocks away.
A light-colored vehicle pulled up to the 17-year-old about 1:50 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Chicago Avenue and someone inside fired shots, police said.
The boy was taken by paramedics to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said. No arrests have been made.
