Man, 20, detained under Mental Health Act after pupils threatened with knife at school

A man has been detained under the Mental Health Act and another bailed after pupils were threatened with a knife at a school.

Police were called to an 'altercation' involving students and two men at St Matthews RC High School, on Nuthurst Road, Moston, last Wednesday (July 17).

The two men, who were at a neighbouring property backing onto the school, entered the premises and made threats to students as well as staff, GMP said.

One of the men was carrying a Stanley knife.
