Man, 20, arrested after herbal cannabis worth over €49,000 seized in North Dublin premises

A 20-year-old man was arrested after revenue officers found herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €49,000 at a North Dublin premises.

The officers seized 2.48 kgs of herbal cannabis from the premises.

The search took place under warrant in the Darndale area as a result of an intelligence led operation.

Today's seizure was part of a joint operation between Revenue's Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Divisional Drug Units attached to Coolock and Ballymun Garda Stations.

A 20-year-old man was arrested by An Garda Síochána.

He is currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Swords Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.

A spokeswoman for Revenue said: "This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
