Man, 19, killed in Garfield Park shooting: police

A man was killed in a shooting Friday in Garfield Park on the West Side, according to police.

About 12:20 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 3800 block of West Adams street and found a 19-year-old man outside with a gunshot wound to the head, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about the death.

No arrests have been reported. Area North detectives are investigating.
