Man, 19, fatally shot in Mayfair: police

A 19-year-old man was killed in a shooting Thursday afternoon in Mayfair on the Northwest Side, police said.

About 12:50 p.m., he was in the 4000 block of West Wilson Avenue when he suffered a gunshot wound to the body, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t confirmed the fatality.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
