Man, 19, and youth, 17, arrested after double stabbing at city centre restaurant Akbar's

Two people have been arrested after two men were stabbed at a Manchester city centre restaurant.

Police were called to Akbar's Indian restaurant on  Liverpool Road at around 7pm last night, to reports of a stabbing.

Two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds that are not believed to be life threatening.

One man aged 19 and a boy aged 17 were later arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

They remain in custody for questioning.

Police say they are treating the stabbings as an isolated incident.

Enquiries are ongoing. 

Witnesses  described seeing around eight police cars and three ambulances at the scene last night.

The restaurant was closed to customers following the incident.
