Man, 18, serious but stable after late night coastal cliff fall

A MAN has been taken to the John Hunter Hospital after reportedly falling 20 metres from a cliff.

Authorities were called shortly after 11pm on Easter Monday after reports the man fell at Copacabana on the Central Coast.

"It was reported that the male had multiple injuries from the fall and required rescuing," a Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service spokesman said.

Paramedics and vertical rescue teams reached the 18-year-old and removed him from the cliff.

The chopper's critical care medical team treated the man until he was stabilised enough to be driven to hospital in Newcastle.

The man was in a serious but stable condition.
