Man, 18, rushed to hospital with head injury after late night crash

A man was rushed to hospital after a crash in Newton Heath last night.

Emergency services, including police officers and paramedics, were called to the scene of the smash on Briscoe Lane just before 11.15pm. An 18-year-old male suffered head injuries, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said.

He was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved. He was taken to hospital from the scene.

It has not been confirmed whether anyone was arrested. The road was shut off by police after the crash.

According to Manc Traffic, it was closed between Mitchell Street and Crawford Street. A spokesperson for NWAS said in a statement: "We responded to the RTC following a call at 23.13pm. An 18-year-old male passenger in one of the vehicles suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital."
