Man, 18, fighting for life after being stabbed in east London

An 18-year-old man is fighting for life after being stabbed in the leg in east London.

The teen was stabbed this afternoon in Chingford Road in Waltham Forest and police were called to the scene at 4.13pm.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: "At the scene, a male, aged around 18, had suffered a stab wound to the leg.

"The injured male was taken by LAS to an east London hospital."

Waltham Forest MPS said the victim's condition was critical.

The incident happened at the junction of Rowden Road and Chingford Road is closed in both directions.

Scotland Yard has launched an investigation following the incident.

Waltham Forest MPS urged witnesses to contact the police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
