Two teenagers have been killed and four people injured after the car they were in crashed on the way to a Halloween party, sources said.
Emergency services were scrambled to the single-vehicle crash outside an army barracks in Perham Down, near Tidworth, Wilts., at around 10.15pm on Friday.
A source claims a number of people inside the car were members of the armed forces, but the MoD was unable to confirm.
Witnesses, including soldiers from a nearby barracks, pulled the occupants - wearing Halloween costumes and make-up - from the car, a source claimed.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was called to the fatal incident and a source said the charity’s specialist medics performed surgery at the roadside.
A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which involved a Renault Clio.
Two other men, aged 19 and 27, were taken to the regional major trauma centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol with life-threatening injuries.
One was taken there via air ambulance.
A 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries, and the other occupant of the vehicle, a 20-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.
Fire crews from Dorset and Wiltshire and Rescue Service and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident.
The road is expected to remain closed for most of Saturday for collision investigation and recovery work.
