Zohran Mamdani made a quip about Taylor Swift’s upcoming wedding as he issued a warning to New Yorkers over an impending heatwave.
The Big Apple has activated its emergency heat plan, as highs of almost 100F are predicted to hit the capital.
In a press conference where he discussed the precautionary measures in place, the mayor advised all New Yorkers to stay inside where possible.
“If you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool,” he quipped, referring to the singer’s star-studded wedding to Travis Kelce on Friday (3 July).
