Earlier this week we brought you the news that Cadbury has launched a and now it’s the turn of Mars to drop a new product that every chocolate lover will be keen to try.
The confectionery giant has launched Maltesers Biscuits.
The new teatime treat is made up of 'malty bobbles', filled with honeycomb and covered in milk chocolate and features the tagline ‘snap ‘em, crunch ‘em, love ‘em’ on its packaging, reports the Mirror Online.
The chocolate biscuit bars cost £1.49 and are available to buy in stores and online at Asda - they’ll be on the shelves in Sainsbury’s and Tesco from March.
The move to create a new twist on the much-loved chocolate follows Mars' creation of biscuit versions of other favourites like Galaxy, Mars and Bounty Soft Centres, which all launched last summer.
The bars will be manufactured by Burton's Biscuit Company who also worked on Mars' previous biscuit product launches.
Speaking to trade magazine The Grocer , Mars Chocolate Drinks & Treats General Manager Michelle Frost said that a "combination of the innovative format, unique malty taste and the popularity of the brand" would "drive new customers into the category".
Meanwhile Cadbury will soon be launching big tubs of Mini Eggs - containing 10 treatsize bags - and Creme Eggs - with eight Creme Eggs and one mini bag of Creme Eggs - this Easter.
And if you’re more of a Terry's Chocolate Orange fan, the brand is selling bags of chocolate orange mini eggs - currently only available at Tesco fro £1 .
