Ballymena United were put to the sword by Malmo in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Sky Blues were massive 22/1 underdogs to emerge with victory at the Swedbank Stadion.
And those odds were justified as the home side eased to a resounding 7-0 win.
Markus Rosenberg bagged a hat-trick with Erdal Rakip (2), Franz Brorsson and Guillermo Molins and also on target for the Swedes.
It was a devastating display of finishing that leaves David Jeffrey's Irish League representatives with merely pride to play for in next week's return leg.
Ballymena started positively but found themselves 3-0 down by the break.
The deadlock was broken in the 31st minute, with Rosenborg rising highest to head home from a deep cross.
It was 2-0 just two minutes later, Malmo captain Rosenberg drilling a low shot under the body of Glendinning following a mistake by Jude Winchester.
The hosts extended their lead two minutes before the break, Rakip pouncing on a slip from Scott Whiteside to slot the home.
All three goals came after Molins had rattled the crossbar for the home side.
Ballymena's plight deepened straight after the break when Brorsson scored with a looping header in the 46th minute.
It was 5-0 two minutes later, Rosenberg completing his hat-trick with a simple finish inside the box.
Molins volleyed home the sixth in the 53rd minute to extend the home side's advantage.
Ballymena managed to batten down the hatches for the next 20 minutes but Malmo soon flexed their muscle again.
The seventh goal arrived in the 74th minute, Rakip with another clinical finish to round off the scoring.
