Mallik Wilks latest as Championship duo plot moves for Leeds United forward

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly given the green light to part ways with youngster Mallik Wilks.

That's according to Football Insider, who state that two Championship clubs have bid for the 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers.

Hull Live revealed earlier this week that Hull City were in advanced talks to sign the winger but now it's believed they have gone one step further by bidding for the player.

The Tigers are not the only team courting Wilks, with fellow Championship outfit Barnsley having also put in an offer for Leeds' homegrown starlet.

Bielsa is said to be happy to see Wilks leave Elland Road and now it's understood the player is weighing up his future options on where to go next.

Barnsley have already completed business with the Whites this week after they signed Aapo Halme for an undisclosed fee, with the centre-back putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

But it's Hull City who remain in pole position to land Wilks, with new Tigers' boss Grant McCann, formerly of Doncaster, known to be a huge admirer.

McCann told the Doncaster Free Press in March: “The lad has got everything to play in the Championship, whether that's with Leeds, us or somebody else. He’s got all the attributes. This is what I expected we would get from him but I think he can be better."
