Malin Andersson's agony as she admits her mum contributed to her eating disorder

Malin Andersson has admitted that her mum contributed to her eating disorder.

The former Love Island star, 26, recalled her childhood traumas that were beginning to manifest themselves into her adulthood.

The brunette bombshell opened up about her mum Consy as she candidly confessed her mum "didn't know any better" when she wanted Malin "to look a certain way".

Malin also admitted that her mum was pushy about her entering various beauty pageants.

In her personal column in OK! mag, Malin penned: "Because my mum starved her whole life, she wanted me to look a certain way and go into beauty pageants."

She added: "She wanted us to be healthy and have the right food so we were restricted from junk food a lot. When I grew up into a teen I was pure calorie counting and my eating disorder kicked in."

But although her mum contributed to her eating disorder, Malin was quick to shift the blame off of her mum.

She continued: "That's childhood trauma. It wasn't my mum's fault because she didn't know any better. We have to forgive our parents, but it's up to us to undo all of what we went through."

Malin confessed that her mum Consy didn't heal from her own childhood traumas.

She recalled her being "depressed and sad" throughout Malin's "whole life growing up".
