Malik Jackson’s contract with Eagles will pay him $30M over 3 years

The Philadelphia Eagles added a dominant inside presence to the fold as Josina Anderson reported the team will sign Pro Bowl defensive tackle Malik Jackson.

According to Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth $10 million per year for a total of $30 million.

Jackson, 29, was on a slight decline in Jacksonville but paired next to Fletcher Cox and edge rushers like Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett, the defensive tackle should regain some of the dominance that saw him rack up 18 sacks over a three-year period from the inside.

Jackson began his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, who selected him with a fifth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Jackson amassed 14.5 sacks in 62 games with Denver, including helping the team win Super Bowl 50 over Carolina.

For the Eagles, it’s much-needed help after the team declined to pick up Timmy Jernigan’s 2019 contract option and let Haloti Ngata test free agency.
