Malibu, with its coconut taste, has long been a favoured summer tipple – but the brand’s new flavour is a game changer.
The rum company have just released a ‘Strawberry Spritz’ flavour. Described as a rum spritz with strawberry and coconut hints, a 750mL bottle will retail at £9.50 and will be available exclusively at Tesco.
The Malibu Strawberry Spritz is the latest innovation from the brand, after they launched a passion fruit flavoured rum last year as well as a Pina Colada cocktail in a can.
The drink will be available in Tesco supermarkets from May 20, just in time for summer.
Another anticipated alcoholic hit for summer 2019 is wine in a tin – as our wine columnist Abbie Moulton predicted in January.
Abbie wrote at the time: “Convenience, sustainability and portion control are some of the reasons the [canned wine] trend is going down so well - with no bottle openers required, lighter packaging meaning a lower carbon footprint, and the compact size meaning booze-conscious millennials no longer find themselves burdened with having to drink a full bottle.”
It seems strawberry rum and canned wine are about to become the new summer staples, seen in the hands of sun worshippers in a London park near you.
