Male 'sustains a number of stab wounds' in Bristol attack

A male has been left with "a number of stab wounds" after an attack in Bristol.

Paramedics and police officers were called to Highridge Green at around 11.30pm on Tuesday (June 8) after the person was injured.

The victim has been taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, police say.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: "Four males, aged between 17 and 21, have been arrested and are currently in police custody.

"A crime scene remains in place and the road is closed while investigations continues.

"House-to-house enquiries have been carried out.

"Although our enquiries are at an early stage, we believe this to be an isolated incident.

"Extra patrols will be carried out in the area as a precaution."

The spokesman added: "Anyone who saw what happened and can assist our enquiries is asked to call 101 and give reference number 5221127435. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
