Male motorcyclist seriously injured after car crash near Paisley

A male motorcyclist is seriously injured in hospital after being involved in a car crash near Paisley.

The collision took place on the A737 at the St James Interchange at around 3.55pm yesterday afternoon.

The injured man, 54, was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with head and chest injuries. His condition is described by medical staff as being serious but stable.

No one else is reported to have been injured in the incident.

Police Scotland officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision where the eastbound off slip of A737 joins the M8, to contact them.

Sergeant Craig Beaver said: "I would like to speak to anyone who was driving in the vicinity of the St James Interchange at the time of the collision.

"I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of an HGV lorry who may be able to assist with enquiries and anyone who captured the incident on a dashcam."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland via 101 - quoting reference 2465 of May 14.
