Malcolm Mitchell named to University of Georgia’s 40 under 40

Former Georgia Bulldog and New England Patriots’ WR Malcolm Mitchell has been named to the University of Georgia’s 40 under 40 list. Mitchell retired from football following ten knee surgeries. In his rookie season he won a Super Bowl with the Patriots. Mitchell was a big-factor in the Patriots’ victory, but his impact goes well beyond the field.

Mitchell  struggled reading coming into UGA, but went on to use books to help fill the gap and ultimately graduate from Georgia. Mitchell was not done there. He founded Read With Malcolm, a nonprofit that vies to improve literacy skills among the youth.

Mitchell tweeted about his honor:

Being named to the 40 Under 40 is quite an accomplishment. It’s even more impressive since Mitchell is only 25 years old. Mitchell prepared for his future at Georgia and when his NFL career did not work out due to injuries,  Mitchell already had a well established charity.

Mitchell is a role model for current and future Georgia football players and UGA students. Athens gives everyone a chance to make a positive impact on the world.
