Malcolm Jenkins says he’s ‘outplayed’ his contract, wants a new deal but won’t holdout

Malcolm Jenkins is one of the top safeties in all of football and on Tuesday he confirmed what the entire world already knew. The Eagles safety wants a new contract or some type of compensation that shows his value among the other safeties in the NFL.

For Jenkins, who just stood in front of his locker wearing a hoodie that read, “f*** The System”, he believes he’s outplayed his contract and is looking for more money. Jenkins though, won’t hold out or skip training camp.

Jenkins told the media that he’s at minicamp “because he wants to be here.” He also went on to say that he “understands it’s a business”, but human nature won’t allow him to not notice how much the other safeties in free agency have made. Jenkins said he feels respected by the Eagles and that he let the organization know after the season ended, that he wanted a new deal.

Jenkins went on to say that he’s attending minicamp for his teammates, and his relationship with owner Jeffrey Lurie is also playing a huge part in his attendance.
