Malaika Arora recently opened up about boosting conversations around inclusivity and body positivity. The actress also spoke about people seeing modeling as a stepping stone for Bollywood.
In an interview with a news portal, Malaika stated that she went from being a model to a VJ and thereon. Bollywood, according to her, is an interlinked industry. The actress also added that she doesn’t see anything wrong in people seeing it as a viable career option. Malaika also added that it does not necessarily mean the death of the modeling industry.
Malaika is currently hosting a modeling hunt show along with Milind Soman and Anusha Dandekar. She also reportedly spoke about models in India facing several biases including being stigmatized for their skin colour. According to Malaika, the idea that white is superior is ingrained in people’s psyche and battling against that mentality is a long-drawn one.
Elaborating further, she added that growing up in this society has made women believe that fair is beautiful. People encourage them to recondition themselves.
Meanwhile, on the personal front, Malaika is currently dating Arjun Kapoor. The couple has been painting the town red ever since they came out in open about their relationship.
On the work front, Arjun has some very interesting line-up of films in his pipeline which includes ‘Bhoot Police’ which also stars Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam in lead roles. The movie is set to release on an OTT platform.
Apart from this, he also has Mohit Suri’s ‘Ek Villain Returns’ co-starring John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in lead roles.
